Marie Josephine Crabbe

Marie Josephine Crabbe (née Vander Kaa; 1907 – 12 September 1987), also recorded as Mary Josephine Crabbe, was a daughter of the Fort William machinist Paul Vander Kaa and his wife Mary Amelia Vander Kaa.

Life

Marie Josephine Vander Kaa was born in Fort William in 1907, a daughter of Paul Vander Kaa (1866–1943), a machinist, and Mary Amelia Vander Kaa (née Beyer, 1874–1961).[1] On 23 November 1931 she married Matthew Crabbe (1908–1961); the marriage was announced in the Fort William Daily Times-Journal the following day.[1][2] Matthew Crabbe is buried alongside her at Mountain View Cemetery in Thunder Bay.[3]

Marie Josephine and Matthew Crabbe had several children, including:

A further daughter was born on 27 February 1937; she may be one of those listed above.[2]

Death

Crabbe died in Thunder Bay on 12 September 1987, at the age of 80.[6] Her husband Matthew Crabbe predeceased her, dying on 22 February 1961.[3][5]
