William Sears was an academic of the Lakehead University community who died in the year before October 2017.[1]
Remembered in RALU News
The editorial of the October 2017 issue of RALU News says that an unusually large number of the university community's seniors and pioneers had died in the past year. It names five academics: Graham Borradaille, Bill Graham, Tom Hazenberg, John Naysmith and William Sears. It adds that they will all be sorely missed and that the association exists to keep alive the memory of their dreams and aspirations for a great academic institution.[1]

The newsletter gives no first name beyond "William", no dates and no department. No death-index or other record on this wiki could be matched to him on 31 October 2026, so this page records only the newsletter's mention. A later match, for example an obituary for a William Sears who worked at Lakehead, should be merged here.
