Alexander de Laronde was a mixed-ancestry man of the de Laronde family who worked at Nipigon House and later settled at Red Rock.

Life

• Resided in the United States for several years before returning to Canada.
• Worked at Nipigon House for three years and then moved to the Red Rock / Nipigon area, where he was living by 1885.
• On occasion carried mail up to the Hudson's Bay Company's Nipigon House post.
• Remained in the Nipigon/Red Rock area until at least 1898.

Family

• Married an Indian woman in 1877, a daughter of Windjab of the Nipigon Band; on the 1881 census his wife is named Theresa.
