William Ellis Rowthorn (7 July 1922 – 19 August 1942 (aged 20)) was a Canadian soldier from Fort William in the Royal Canadian Air Force. Rowthorn died on active service during the Second World War.[1]
Early life
Rowthorn was born in Fort William on 7 July 1922, the son of John William Rowthorn and Doris Amy Burton Rowthorn.[1]
Service
Rowthorn enlisted at Fort William and served as a warrant officer class ii (service number R/68714) in the Air Force, Royal Canadian Air Force (401 Sqdn.).[1]
Death
Rowthorn died on 19 August 1942, aged 20. He is commemorated at Brookwood Military Cemetery (grave reference 38. G. 12.).[1]
