- Named in the write-up "Crocker Land Expedition": A 1913 expedition set out to map Crocker Land, a territory supposedly discovered by Robert Peary north of Baffin Land. The explorers found that the land did not exist where expected and their instruments gave conflicting readings, eventually realizing the 'land' was actually a large ice floe.[1]
