Pierre Bonnecarre, recorded under several spellings, was a mixed-ancestry hunter and guide of the Red Rock area.[1]

Life

  • An 1877 Nipigon post journal entry records him returning to his home at Red Rock.
  • In 1885 lived at Red Rock with Pierre Deschamps.
  • By 1887 was living on the Lake Helen Reserve and was noted as one of the best guides on the Nipigon River.
  • Described as a "Half-breed Hunter" in the 1891 Red Rock post inspection report.
  • Appears as band member number 11 on the Red Rock Band paylists of 1895, 1897, and 1898-1900.
