Oliver Township was a township west of Fort William, in the Thunder Bay District of Ontario, amalgamated in 1998 with Paipoonge Township to form the municipality of Oliver Paipoonge. Its farm lots along the John Street Road were settled from the 1870s.[1]
Settler families
- Henry Shepherd Cook, known as Harry Cook, settled on the John Street Road with his wife and their infant daughter at about the end of 1872; the family home remained there thereafter.[1]
- That daughter, Mary Anne Shepherd Todd, married Arthur Todd in 1890 and lived at the same place until her death in 1956.[1]
- Her brother Frank Cook was still farming in the township in 1956.[1]
