Leslie D. Dack (died 19 June 2004) was a resident of Thunder Bay, Ontario.[1]
Life
Leslie D. Dack was born on March 7, 1915, in Port Arthur, Ontario, and spent his entire life in what became Thunder Bay. He attended public school and high school in Port Arthur, then went on to graduate from the University of Toronto in 1937. Following his graduation, he completed an apprenticeship with F.H. Black and Co. Chartered Accountants and qualified as a Chartered Accountant, a profession he practiced for the remainder of his working life. In 1949, Leslie married Mary Dickinson, a union that lasted nearly 53 years until her death in 2002. He was involved in a number of community organizations and was a long-time member of St. Paul's United Church. His leisure pursuits included golf, curling, and gardening. In retirement, he and Mary travelled and spent several winters at their residence in Mesa, Arizona. He was survived by his son Charles, of Edmonton, Alberta, and his daughter Leslie and granddaughter Genevieve, both of Thunder Bay. He was predeceased by his wife Mary in 2002, his father Charles Dack, and his mother Annis Dack. Leslie D. Dack passed away in hospital on Saturday, June 19, 2004, at the age of 89. Funeral services were held on June 22, 2004, at St. Paul's United Church, officiated by Reverend Randy Boyd, with interment of ashes in the family plot at Sunset Memorial Gardens.[2]
