James White Crooks (3 February 1866 – 4 September 1944 (aged 78)) was a pharmacist, alderman, and mayor of Port Arthur.[1]
Early life
Crooks was born on 3 February 1866 in Woodstock, Ontario. He was Anglican and Liberal in politics.

Career
Crooks worked as a pharmacist in Port Arthur from 1886 to 1944, initially as a clerk and then as a partner with Dr T.S.T. Smellie. He served as Port Arthur alderman from 1920 to 1923, and as mayor of Port Arthur from 1924 to 1925. He married Mary Georgina Francis on 21 September 1892.
Death
Crooks died on 4 September 1944 in St. Petersburg, Florida, while on vacation.
