Gregory James Johnson (16 March 1971 – 7 July 2019 (aged 48)) was a Canadian professional ice hockey player from Thunder Bay who played in the National Hockey League with the Detroit Red Wings, Pittsburgh Penguins, Chicago Blackhawks, and Nashville Predators.[1]
Career
Before his professional career, Johnson recorded 96 points in 47 games for the Thunder Bay Flyers of the USHL in 1988–89, winning the Clark Cup with the team in 1989. He played forward, shooting left, and was listed at 5'10" (178 cm) and 196 lb (89 kg); his final recorded season was 2006–07 with the Detroit Red Wings of the NHL.[2] His brother Ryan Johnson was also a professional hockey player.
