William James Allan (1 September 1894 – 13 August 1916 (aged 21)) was a Canadian soldier who enlisted at Port Arthur in the Canadian Infantry (Manitoba Regiment). Allan died on active service during the First World War.[1]
Early life
Allan was born on 1 September 1894, the son of William Allan and Jane Allan.[1]
Service
Allan enlisted at Port Arthur and served as a private (service number 439721) in the Army, Canadian Infantry (Manitoba Regiment) (52nd Bn.).[1]
Death
Allan died of wounds on 13 August 1916, aged 21. He is commemorated at Lijssenthoek Military Cemetery (grave reference VIII. D. 43.).[1]
