Shawn Perring (4 April 1980 – 30 July 2015 (aged 35)) was a Thunder Bay ice hockey defenceman who played for the Lakehead Thunderwolves and died at the age of 35.[1]
Career
Shawn Perring played the position of D, shooting R. They were listed at 6'2" (188 cm) and 220 lb (100 kg). Their most recent or summary team experience is recorded as 2003-2004 | Lakehead Univ. (USports).[2]
Death
The report on the Thunderwolves' men's hockey team in the September 2015 issue of RALU News notes, "on a sad note", that former blue-liner Shawn Perring had recently passed away at the age of 35, and that he would be missed by his former teammates and coaches.[1] An obituary-index entry dated 5 August 2015 lists a Shawn Perring of Thunder Bay with a death on 30 July 2015.[3]
Notes
The pages 'Shawn Perring' and 'Shawn Perring (born 1980)' were merged. The hockey profile gives a birth date of 4 April 1980, which makes a man who died on 30 July 2015 exactly 35, the age the newsletter gives; he played defence ("blue-liner") and his most recent listed team was the Lakehead University team, which the newsletter's report covers; and both records are for a Thunder Bay man. The retirees' newsletter reports the death in its sports coverage and does not suggest that Perring was a retiree or employee.
