Peter Bell was a Hudson's Bay Company chief factor who administered the Lake Superior district in the late nineteenth century, as recorded in the reminiscences of N. M. W. J. McKenzie.[1]
Career
Bell served as chief factor in charge of the Lake Superior district around 1870 and was well regarded in the district during his tenure.[1]
Death
After retirement Bell travelled to Dawson City in the Yukon. On the return journey the steamboat he was travelling on was wrecked in bad weather, and he drowned along with many other passengers and crew.[1]
