Nicholas Bouchard (born c. 1848) was a mixed-ancestry member of the Bouchard family who spent almost his whole life at Nipigon House.[1]
Life
- Born at Nipigon House in approximately 1848.
- Married a "Half-breed" woman from Michipicoten, possibly in 1860, with whom he had six children.
- With the exception of one year, always lived at Nipigon House; his family spent some time at Red Rock.
- Listed, with his wife and children, as "French & Indian" on the 1871 census.
Family
- His son Moise Bouchard and son Ambrose Bouchard both married women of the Nipigon Band.
- A daughter married a Frenchman named Blais.
