Moose Mountain Ski Resort
Appearance
The Moose Mountain Ski Resort was a ski hill about three miles east of Beardmore, in the Thunder Bay District. It opened officially on Sunday 14 January 1962.[1]
History
It had five runs, a vertical drop of 400 feet and a "Kalson" T-bar. The newly formed Beardmore Ski Club held slalom races at the opening, supervised by Bill Irwin. Dues were $5 for seniors and $3 for juniors, and Beardmore claimed back the title of "Snow Capital". The owner and closing date are not known.[1] See History of skiing in Thunder Bay and, for the region's later jumping centre, Big Thunder.
