M. McCutcheon was a resident of Port Arthur, in the Thunder Bay District of Ontario. The surrogate-court probate records list two different decedents named M. McCutcheon in the district; this article covers the one whose estate was probated at Port Arthur in 1897.
The estate was probated in the Thunder Bay District surrogate court in 1897 and inventoried at $8,200.00 (equivalent to $387,811 in 2025). She died testate, leaving a will, and was survived by one child.[1]
