Leslie James (25 August 1890 – 25 May 1916 (aged 25)) was a Canadian soldier who enlisted at Port Arthur in the Canadian Infantry (Manitoba Regiment). James died on active service during the First World War.[1]
Early life
James was born at Hearts Content on 25 August 1890, the son of James Wigley James and Margaret James.[1]
Service
James enlisted at Port Arthur and served as a private (service number 439747) in the Army, Canadian Infantry (Manitoba Regiment) (52nd Bn.).[1]
Death
James was killed in action on 25 May 1916, aged 25. He is commemorated at Maple Copse Cemetery (grave reference II. B. 2.).[1]
