Joseph Bouchard was a mixed-ancestry guide of the Bouchard family, noted as one of the best guides on the Nipigon River.[1]
Life
- As a child he resided at the Hudson's Bay Company's Nipigon House post.
- Lived at Red Rock from as early as 1884 and delivered mail to Nipigon House.
- By 1887 was living on the Red Rock Band's Lake Helen Reserve and was noted as among the best guides in the Nipigon River area; still at Red Rock in 1889.
Family
- Married Angelique de Laronde in 1883, with whom he had at least one child; the family received treaty annuities at Nipigon House.
