John O'Brien

John O'Brien ((1891-06-20)20 June 1891 – 20 September 1916(1916-09-20) (aged 25)) was a Canadian soldier who enlisted at Port Arthur in the Canadian Infantry (Saskatchewan Regiment). O'Brien died on active service during the First World War.[1]

Early life

O'Brien was born at Newcastle on 20 June 1891.[1]

Service

O'Brien enlisted at Port Arthur and served as a lance corporal (service number 73397) in the Army, Canadian Infantry (Saskatchewan Regiment) (28th Bn.).[1]

Death

O'Brien died of wounds on 20 September 1916, aged 25. He is commemorated at Warloy-Baillon Communal Cemetery Extension (grave reference VIII. A. 32).[1]
