James McRay

James McRay was a man of Scottish and Indian ancestry who lived in the Nipigon area.[1]

Life

  • Listed on the 1871 census as "Scotch and Indian", his wife as "Indian" and their two children as "Scotch"; listed as "Scottish" on the 1891 census.
  • By the census order of visitation, he lived near other families of known mixed ancestry.
