James McDowell (13 August 1910 – 16 May 1943 (aged 32)) was a Canadian soldier from Port Arthur in the Royal Canadian Air Force. McDowell died on active service during the Second World War.[1]
Early life
McDowell was born in Port Arthur on 13 August 1910.[1]
Service
McDowell served as a flight sergeant (service number R/101749) in the Air Force, Royal Canadian Air Force (617 (R.A.F.) Sqdn.).[1]
Death
McDowell died of shot down while on a dambuster mission to sorpe dam in germany. on 16 May 1943, aged 32. He is commemorated at Harlingen General Cemetery (grave reference Plot E. Row 4. Grave 11.).[1]
