J. Livingstone was a resident of Port Arthur, in the Thunder Bay District of Ontario. The surrogate-court probate records list two different decedents named J. Livingstone in the district; this article covers the one whose estate was probated at Port Arthur in 1896.
The estate was probated in the Thunder Bay District surrogate court in 1896 and inventoried at $57.00 (equivalent to $2,795 in 2025). She died intestate, without a will, and was survived by four children.[1]
