J. Couglin was a yard foreman in White River, in the Thunder Bay District of Ontario.
The estate was probated in the Thunder Bay District surrogate court in 1895 and inventoried at $1,231.50 (equivalent to $52,669 in 2025). He died testate, leaving a will, and was survived by six children.[1]
