Glenn Edward Opie (4 November 1924 – 4 October 1944 (aged 19)) was a Canadian soldier from Port Arthur in the Royal Canadian Air Force. Opie died on active service during the Second World War.[1]
Early life
Opie was born in Port Arthur on 4 November 1924, the son of Franklin William Opie and Alma Marie Rose Opie.[1]
Service
Opie enlisted at Port Arthur and served as a sergeant (service number R/208669) in the Air Force, Royal Canadian Air Force (82 Operational Training Unit).[1]
Death
Opie died of plane disintegrated on 4 October 1944, aged 19. He is commemorated at Brookwood Military Cemetery (grave reference 55. E. 5.).[1]
