Gilbert George Fussell (15 January 1931 – 22 February 1957 (aged 26)) was a Canadian soldier from Fort William in the No. 2 Advanced Flying School. Fussell died on active service during the Second World War.[1]
Early life
Fussell was born in Fort William on 15 January 1931, the son of Gilbert James Fussell and Isobel Fussell, husband of Marjorie Ruby Fussell.[1]
Service
Fussell enlisted at Fort William and served as a flying officer (service number 240019) in the Air Force, No. 2 Advanced Flying School.[1]
Death
Fussell died of asphyxia due to drowning - flying accident on 22 February 1957, aged 26. He is commemorated at Mountain View Cemetery, Ontario (grave reference Grave 47, Block 117).[1]
