George Laurie Smith ((1915-08-05)5 August 1915 – 26 February 1945(1945-02-26) (aged 29)) was a Canadian soldier who served in Thunder Bay's Lake Superior Regiment. Smith died on active service during the Second World War.[1]

Early life

Smith was born at Truro on 5 August 1915, the son of John Wesley Smith and Margaret Inez Smith.[1]

Service

Smith enlisted at Halifax and served as a sergeant (service number F/35186) in the Army, Lake Superior Regiment.[1]

Death

Smith died on 26 February 1945, aged 29. He is commemorated at Groesbeek Canadian War Cemetery (grave reference XXIV. C. 14.).[1]
