Frederick William Chandler (27 January 1892 – 6 June 1916 (aged 24)) was a Canadian soldier who enlisted at Fort William in the Canadian Infantry (Saskatchewan Regiment). Chandler died on active service during the First World War.[1]
Early life
Chandler was born at Fairford, Gloucestershire on 27 January 1892, the son of Joseph Chandler and Elizabeth Chandler.[1]
Service
Chandler enlisted at Fort William and served as a lance sergeant (service number 73877) in the Army, Canadian Infantry (Saskatchewan Regiment) (28th Battalion).[1]
Death
Chandler died on 6 June 1916, aged 24. He is commemorated at Menin Gate (Ypres) Memorial (grave reference Panel 18 - 26 - 28).[1]
