F. Brown was a yeoman in Port Arthur, in the Thunder Bay District of Ontario. The surrogate-court probate records list two different decedents named F. Brown in the district; this article covers the one whose estate was probated at Port Arthur in 1899.
The estate was probated in the Thunder Bay District surrogate court in 1899 and inventoried at $900.00 (equivalent to $37,686 in 2025). He died testate, leaving a will, and was survived by one child.[1]
