Edward Leake (5 July 1896 – 8 August 1918 (aged 22)) was a Canadian soldier who enlisted at Port Arthur in the Canadian Infantry (Manitoba Regiment). Leake died on active service during the First World War.[1]
Early life
Leake was born at Birmingham on 5 July 1896, the son of Edward John Leake and Lucy Leake.[1]
Service
Leake enlisted at Port Arthur and served as a private (service number 198778) in the Army, Canadian Infantry (Manitoba Regiment) (52nd Bn.).[1]
Death
Leake was killed by shell fire on 8 August 1918, aged 22. He is commemorated at Hourges Orchard Cemetery, Domart-Sur-La-Luce (grave reference A. 75.).[1]
