Earnscliffe Errol Pope (24 December 1889 – 28 April 1917 (aged 27)) was a Canadian soldier who enlisted at Port Arthur in the Canadian Infantry (Saskatchewan Regiment). Pope died on active service during the First World War.[1]
Early life
Pope was born at Wiarton on 24 December 1889, the son of W.S. Pope and Isabel Pope.[1]
Service
Pope enlisted at Port Arthur and served as a private (service number 199300) in the Army, Canadian Infantry (Saskatchewan Regiment) (5th Bn.).[1]
Death
Pope was killed in action on 28 April 1917, aged 27. He is commemorated at Vimy Memorial.[1]
