Deep Geologic Repository is a proposed underground storage facility for nuclear waste.[1]

- July 2026: The facility is planned for a site in Northwestern Ontario near the Township of Ignace and Wabigoon Lake Ojibway Nation. The Anishinabek Nation argued that this project places a dangerous burden on northern communities while benefiting energy users in southern Ontario. The project involves the long-term burial of toxic materials that the Anishinabek Nation claims threatens the environment and future generations.[1]
