Carl John Wirth (31 August 1920 – 15 August 1944 (aged 23)) was a Canadian soldier who served in Thunder Bay's Lake Superior Regiment. Wirth died on active service during the Second World War.[1]
Early life
Wirth was born at Indian Head on 31 August 1920, the son of Jacob Wirth and Eva Wirth.[1]
Service
Wirth enlisted at Regina and served as a corporal (service number L/84108) in the Army, Lake Superior Regiment ((Motor), R).[1]
Death
Wirth died of kia during operation tractable during the push to falaise on 15 August 1944, aged 23. He is commemorated at Bretteville-Sur-Laize Canadian War Cemetery (grave reference XXIV. D. 6.).[1]
