Austin Lyman Saunders (13 February 1880 – 10 July 1916 (aged 36)) was a Canadian soldier who enlisted at Port Arthur in the Canadian Infantry (Manitoba Regiment). Saunders died on active service during the First World War.[1]
Early life
Saunders was born at Paisley on 13 February 1880, the son of Edward Saunders and Agnes J. H. Saunders.[1]
Service
Saunders enlisted at Port Arthur and served as a captain in the Army, Canadian Infantry (Manitoba Regiment) (52nd Bn.).[1]
Death
Saunders was killed in action on 10 July 1916, aged 36. He is commemorated at Lijssenthoek Military Cemetery (grave reference IX. A. 13.).[1]
