Alexandra "Alex" Cummins ((1920-10-09)9 October 1920 – 10 August 2018(2018-08-10) (aged 97)) was an Estonian-born woman who settled in Fort William after emigrating in 1957 and later lived in Kelowna, British Columbia.[1][2]

Life and family

Cummins was born in Estonia on 9 October 1920 and emigrated to Canada in 1957 by way of Germany and England, living first in Montreal and then in Fort William, where she worked as a homemaker and cook.[1] In 1979 she moved to Kelowna with her friend Hugh Cummins, whom she married in January 1980. They volunteered with the John Howard Society and with elder care in Kelowna.[1]

She died at the Village at Smith Creek in Kelowna on 10 August 2018, aged 97.[1]

Notes

  • Identity rests on the name, the exact death date and the Chronicle-Journal publication; she lived in Fort William from 1957 until 1979 before moving to British Columbia.
  • The existing Hugh Cummins page is a possible, unconfirmed match for her husband.
