1980 Winter Olympics
Appearance
The 1980 Winter Olympics were held at Lake Placid, New York.
Thunder Bay connections
Thunder Bay's Tauno Käyhkö and Steve Collins, with Ottawa's Horst Bulau, went to Lake Placid after the January 1980 World Cup at Big Thunder. In 1995 Collins still held the best Canadian placing in an Olympic 90-metre jumping event, from Lake Placid.[1][2]
