William Alfred R Rooney (born 19 September 1893) was a Canadian soldier who enlisted at Port Arthur and served in the First World War.[1]

Rooney was born at Midland, Simcoe County, Canada on 19 September 1893.[1]
Service
Rooney enlisted at Port Arthur in the Canadian Expeditionary Force, 52nd Overseas Battalion (regimental number 439879).[1]
Attestation
On enlistment, his trade was given as trainman; his next of kin was recorded as his mother, Mrs S. Boon, of W. Stawene, Ontario, Canada.[1]
