Sidney James Welch (born 3 August 1889) was a Canadian soldier who enlisted at Port Arthur and served in the First World War.[1]
Early life
Welch was born at Sydney, New South Wales, Australia on 3 August 1889.[1]
Service
Welch enlisted at Port Arthur in the Canadian Expeditionary Force, 52nd Battalion (regimental number 439917).[1]
Attestation
On enlistment, his trade was given as sign painter; his next of kin was recorded as his father, Mrs. Jas. Welch, of Henley in Arden, Birmingham.[1]
