In Anishinabek News
- October 2021: The Blue Sky Community Healing Centre purchased 135 acres of property within the municipality to conduct land-based programming.[4]
- August 2025: The municipality supported the expansion of Niibing Tribal Tours by rezoning the property to Recreation Commercial. The local council maintains a positive working relationship with business owner Cindy Crowe regarding land use and development. The area is situated approximately 45 kilometres south of the Thunder Bay International Airport near the border with the United States.[1]
