- April 2013: The 75-year-old elder passed away on March 14, 2013, after a life spent as a hunter, fisherman, and guide in Dokis First Nation. He gained regional fame as a traditional weatherman, using observations of animals and plants to provide accurate forecasts for the Lake Nipissing and North Bay areas. He served as a conservation officer and a member of the Dokis Band Council while operating Wajashk Cottages with his wife Jackie. As of 2010, he believed that climate change was interfering with nature and making some traditional weather proverbs unreliable.[1]
