Edward B. Oliver

Edward B. Oliver was a physician in Fort William, in the Thunder Bay District of Ontario.

The estate was probated in the Thunder Bay District surrogate court in 1922 and inventoried at $4,581.32 (equivalent to $81,767 in 2025). He died testate, leaving a will.[1]

During the influenza epidemic, a joint meeting passed resolutions empowering Edward B. Oliver and Dr. Laurie to institute a quarantine, made influenza a reportable disease, advised the public to avoid crowds, closed certain places, prohibited gatherings, and sought the co-operation of managers of the Street Railway, Ship Yards, and Car Works to prevent overcrowding on street cars.[2]
