CampMed
CampMed is an annual summer medical camp for high school students.[1]
In Anishinabek News
- May 2021: Chloe Smith attended this Northern Ontario School of Medicine camp in 2015 to attend lectures and learn medical procedures such as making casts. The program was held virtually in 2020, where Chloe Smith served as a volunteer camp counsellor.[2]
- February 2026: The 20th annual camp is scheduled for July 2026 with sessions held in both Sudbury and Thunder Bay. Since 2006, the program has hosted over 1,200 participants from 169 different communities. The camp provides hands-on learning, mentorship, and exposure to Indigenous and Francophone health traditions. The program is led by volunteer post-secondary students, graduates, medical students, and health professionals.[1]
